More Than Conquerors draws upon three Biblical verses that summarise an indefatigable confidence. i have produced my own paraphrase of the text, derived from many translations. The desired effect is that of a divinely-inspired, in part soliloquous outpouring, with discrete human inflections.
No! in all things we are more than conquerors through him who holds us dear. For I am convinced – it is certain, I have no doubt – that there is nothing: neither death nor life, not angels nor demons and virtuous rulers, no threatening presence, now or to come, nor any powers—from the heights of sublimity to the oceanic depths of the abyss—nothing in all creation has the power to take us away, nor the ability to separate us from the love – such sweet affection – of God, in Christ Jesus our Lord.
