February 24, 2013

Programme note

February 24, 2013 is an indeterminate composition, originally based on the methodology and processes of the similarly indeterminate works of Kenneth Kirschner. The piece comprises multiple layers of sound fragments that are navigated via a mixture of intentional and chance procedures, such that its details and overall duration are undefined. All of the sounds used in the piece are extremely quiet, and most use very high or low frequencies.

It was composed as a homage to Kenneth Kirschner as part of the Imperfect Forms book and album project, and was initially made available as a downloadable software-based composition but this has now been withdrawn.
